Vanamalika Weaves

From small-town roots, a thoughtful world of sarees.

Vanamalika Weaves brings together thoughtfully selected sarees across cottons, silks, semi-silks and blends, alongside a limited range of unstitched salwar materials.

Every piece is chosen one at a time for its fabric, colour, design, wearability and value—and described with honesty.

Handpicked Heritage

Product photographs from our first selection will appear here shortly.

A smaller collection. A more considered choice.

Vanamalika Weaves was created for women who appreciate beautiful textiles but also want to understand what they are choosing.

We work with trusted manufacturers and textile suppliers, select in thoughtful batches, and look at every piece as a whole—the fabric, colour, border, pallu, finish, comfort and value.

Some of our sarees are handloom. Some are powerloom. Some are made for celebrations, while others are meant to be worn often and loved for years.

We do not believe that one weaving method, price point or fabric alone defines a good saree. What matters is whether the piece is well chosen, fairly presented and right for the woman wearing it.

Not an endless catalogue. A collection chosen piece by piece.

Sarees

Sarees are the heart of Vanamalika Weaves.

Our evolving collections bring together cottons, silks, semi-silks and clearly described blends for everyday wear, work, gifting, festivals and celebrations.

You may find both handloom and powerloom pieces in our collection. The loom type will be stated wherever it has been confirmed.

Our Story

It began in Sathyamangalam.

I grew up around sarees.

They were not reserved only for weddings or festivals. They were part of everyday life—the fall of a familiar cotton, the quiet richness of a festive saree, the balance of a border and the care with which a good piece was folded and kept.

Vanamalika Weaves grew from that familiarity and from a desire to bring a more thoughtful, transparent way of choosing sarees to women everywhere.

What does Handpicked Heritage mean?

Handpicked is how we select.

Heritage is what sarees and Indian textiles carry forward—memory, colour, craft, celebration and ways of dressing passed from one generation to another.

It does not mean that every product is handmade, handloom or traditional in the same way.

Each piece is described according to what has been confirmed about its fabric, loom, construction and details.

Handpicked is our method. Heritage is our sensibility.

Not everything we see becomes part of Vanamalika.

Before a product enters our collection, we look beyond its first impression.

Fabric

What is it made from? How does it feel? Is the material description supported by the information available to us?

Design

Do the body, border, pallu and colour combination work together? Is the design beautiful without becoming difficult to wear?

Finish

Are the edges, border, pallu and accompanying pieces properly finished and presented?

Wearability

Is the piece comfortable and suitable for the occasion or everyday use for which it is being offered?

Value

Does the product feel worthwhile within its own category, fabric and method of production?

Only the pieces we would confidently recommend to our own family become part of Vanamalika Weaves.

The Vanamalika Promise

Beautiful textiles deserve clear information.

Honest descriptions

We state fabric, loom type, blouse details, accompanying pieces and other product information at the level we can support.

Faithful photographs

Actual product photographs remain the main reference. We do not intentionally add borders, motifs, zari or design elements that are not present in the original piece.

Thoughtful value

We assess each product within its own category rather than using exaggerated labels to make it appear more expensive or special.

Unhurried guidance

Our role is to understand your occasion, fabric preference, colours and comfortable price range—and help you see a small, relevant selection without pressure.

When something has not been confirmed, we will not present it as fact.

A Note from the Founder

Built slowly. Chosen carefully.

Vanamalika Weaves began during a season when I wanted two things to coexist: being present for my family and building something meaningful of my own.

Sarees were the natural beginning. They connected me to where I grew up, to the women I had watched wear them, and to a world of colour, fabric and detail that had always felt familiar.

I am building Vanamalika thoughtfully—not to offer the most, but to offer pieces I can stand behind.
